The 2019 Mercedes-AMG C 43 Sedan sat in a unique sweet spot within the AMG lineup, blending everyday luxury with serious performance. Powered by a 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged V6 producing 287kW and 520Nm, the facelifted 2019 model gained an extra 23 horsepower over earlier versions thanks to larger turbochargers borrowed from the E43 AMG. Paired with AMG's 9-speed SPEEDSHIFT automatic transmission and rear-biased 4MATIC all-wheel drive, the C43 could sprint from 0-100km/h in around 4.6 seconds, performance that rivalled some older V8 AMGs.
One of the C43's most interesting characteristics was its drivetrain setup. Unlike many all-wheel-drive luxury sedans that prioritised front-end grip, the C43's AMG Performance 4MATIC system sent 69 percent of power to the rear wheels, giving it a far sportier and more playful feel than most AWD competitors.
